Research has shown that Mindfulness Meditation is very helpful in reducing automatic negative thoughts and results in a higher satisfaction with life. Mindfulness is a type of meditation practice also known as insight meditation. You start by focusing your attention on your breath, and as the focus becomes more stable you start to feel calmness and stability. When thoughts and feelings come up, you non-jugmentally observe them as events in the field of your awareness and let them go. Observing the thoughts that come and go in your awareness , leads you to feel less absorbed in them and gain a deeper perspective on your reactions to every day stress. Mindfulness Meditation is a way of paying attention to what is happening in our lives.
